Anna Byrne

Anna completed her Juris Doctorate (with Honours) in April 2014. She holds a Bachelor of International Hotel Management and is presently studying for a Master of Business Administration. Anna was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2015 and is also admitted to the High Court of Australia. Together with her Juris Doctorate, she holds a certificate of specialisation in Commercial Law.

Anna has worked in private practices both in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, focusing on Family law, Commercial and Property law.

Prior to focusing primarily in Family Law, Anna assisted clients with Child Custody matters, Property settlements, Franchise agreements, business purchase and sales, company and trust creations, residential property sales, commercial sales, shareholder sale agreements and wills and estates. Due to her commercial and family background, Anna is able to integrate both areas of law into her family law matters thus often contemplating commercial circumstances, scenarios and issues that may not be evident, on face value, to other family lawyers.

Anna is also married and a mother of two beautiful children aged under five (5) and so she is able to appreciate and understand the emotionality of child custody matters and the heightened stress that results from a breakdown of a marriage and the family unit.

Anna has experience in all manners of family law matters but most recently in the new programs being piloted in Brisbane, being the PPP500 and the lighthouse project. Anna also has experience with matters noted on the Magellan list and the Evatt list.

Some notable matters and clients that Anna has found herself assisting have included a setting aside of a Binding Financial Agreement, wherein she acted for the Applicant and was ultimately successful in the set aside application. A child custody matter wherein she acted for the Applicant, and the Respondent was ordered to relocate to Brisbane (from Sydney) and provide a 50/50 shared care arrangement with the Applicant.

On a personal note, Anna enjoys the luxuries associated with living on the Gold Coast with her family, including lazy Sundays on the beach, visits to the theme parks and short family getaways to Byron and surrounds.
