Marius Eden

Marius Eden is a Partner (non-principal) at Ramsden Family Law. With over 30 years of legal experience spanning two continents, he is a highly respected Family Law Lawyer who manages operations across both the Gold Coast and Brisbane offices.

He is an Accredited Specialist in Family Law and an Accredited Mediator.

Marius’s early legal career took shape in South Africa, where for ten years he was involved in handling significant and complex cases. His experience included constitutional litigation against the South African government post-apartheid, representing clients in murder trials, and advising embassies such as those of Venezuela, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia, on labour and contractual issues. He also represented private clients and businesses, including a renowned international artist and former public company directors.

After relocating to Australia 21 years ago, Marius chose to focus exclusively on family law. In 2015, he became an Accredited Specialist in Family Law and has since successfully acted in a range of matters, including property settlements, parenting disputes, and international child relocation cases.

Among his most notable cases, Marius has represented high-net-worth clients in complex family law proceedings, one involving a combined asset pool nearing $100 million. He has also advised clients in three separate lottery-related family law cases, with winnings of $26 million and $30 million in two instances. He also represented a company director in a mediation in the Netherlands. He has also represented a client before the AAT in a child support matter.

He is well known within the industry for his strategic thinking, ability to quickly interpret complex situations, and clear, compassionate communication and professional approach.

Outside of work, Marius is an enthusiastic and competitive sportsman. He is a single handicap golfer, keen cyclist, and tennis player, and maintains an active gym routine. He also cherishes quality time with his family and finds peace in beach walks.
