Jakoaba Smith

Jakoaba Smith is currently completing a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Criminology at UNSW Sydney.

In her role as a Law Clerk, she brings valuable experience from her background in commercial law, particularly in the projects, energy transition, and dispute resolution space. She has also developed strong client service skills through her previous work as a client services representative in real estate.

During her studies, Jakoaba discovered a passion for family law and hopes to practise exclusively in this area once she completes her degree. She finds family law genuinely rewarding and values the opportunity to make a lasting difference in clients’ lives.

Originally from a regional city, Jakoaba enjoys connecting with people from all walks of life and focuses on building trust and strong relationships with each client. She understands the uncertainty that often comes with family law matters and is passionate about providing clients with empathy, support, and guidance throughout the process.

Jakoaba considers working in law and with clients to be a privilege, and she is committed to doing all she can to assist in progressing matters. With a friendly and warm approach, she strives to make clients feel at ease during what can often be a stressful experience.
