Established in 2019 by Managing Partner Reece Ramsden, Ramsden Family Law evolved from a specialist division of Ramsden Lawyers, a respected multi-practice firm with over 20 years of industry experience, to become its own independent entity. Our continued connection with Ramsden Lawyers provides clients and staff with a distinct advantage, especially when family law matters intersect with areas such as commercial, property, migration, litigation, and wills and estates.

Our Approach
At Ramsden Family Law, we understand how important it is for clients to choose a family lawyer who is experienced, empathetic, and aligned with their needs. That is why our team practices exclusively in family law and consists of 11 family lawyers and 4 accredited family law specialists, across all of our offices.
We are committed to resolution-focused advocacy and keep our clients informed at every step. While we strive to resolve matters outside of court where possible, our lawyers are also well equipped to represent clients in complex litigation when needed.
Mentorship & Development
We are committed to the development of our junior team members. Our clerks, graduates, and trainees benefit from direct mentorship from highly experienced family law specialists.
Beyond senior mentoring, we also foster a peer-to-peer support system that connects junior lawyers and associates with students and graduates. This collaborative approach helps smooth the transition from academic study to legal practice.
Career Entry Programs
We offer a range of structured entry pathways for aspiring legal professionals, tailored to support growth through each stage of a legal career.
Our programs include:
- Work Experience Clerkship
- A two-month rotational program across our five practice areas. Open to penultimate-year law students seeking a first-hand view of legal practice.
- Practical Legal Training (PLT) Placement
- Supervised employment for students completing their PLT requirements. High performers may be offered ongoing employment opportunities.
- Graduate Employment Program
- For law graduates, this program includes a trainee solicitor role until admission. Our graduates receive structured support to build their career foundation within a thriving family law environment.
